The Florida Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Florida Gulf Coast University is proud to announce the internal promotion of Elizabeth Goldbach and Suzanne Specht to the role of Assistant Director, a strategic restructuring that strengthens our mission, improves regional coverage, and elevates the daily support available to our consultants and clients across Southwest Florida.
Suzanne Specht, who now oversees Collier, Hendry, and Glades counties, brings more than 27 years of SBDC experience and has helped launch over 200 businesses and secure $64 million in capital. A nationally recognized expert in SBA and disaster lending, her impact is felt across the region in both crisis response and everyday client success.
Elizabeth Goldbach, who now oversees Lee and Charlotte counties, draws on a 24-year background in pharmaceutical sales and years of business consulting experience to serve as a bilingual advisor and regional leader. Known for her clarity, strategic insight, and commitment to entrepreneurs, she plays an essential role in strengthening small business resilience and access to capital.
In their new roles, Elizabeth and Suzanne will contribute to enhancing the region’s operational excellence, oversee key program initiatives, and forward its mission of fostering economic growth and innovation throughout the region. Their appointments underscore the Florida SBDC at FGCU’s commitment to robust leadership and expanded resources for the small business community.
